Shift Plans in CaptureIT
Set Up Any Number and Any Types of Shift
If you run any form of alternating shifts, then CaptureIT can handle this by incorporating your work periods into a shift plan. Whether you run a simple two-week rotation, continental shifts or even a more ad-hoc shift plan, CaptureIT can help you manage what can be a complicated process.
By programming your shift rotation into CaptureIT, the system will automatically know what hours any given employee should be working on any given day of the week. CaptureIT will then apply any rules and parameters associated with that shift without any intervention from an administrator.
Sometimes employees may be able to work any number of shifts but the shifts they work could change on a daily basis. This is handled in CaptureIT via a feature called variable shifts. Variable shifts work by looking at the time your employees clocked in and out and then applying the rules of the work period closest to those times. ...Overtime Monitoring
If it is common for your employees to swap shifts we would recommend that you use CaptureIT’s Variable Shift feature.
This feature automatically allocates an employee to the correct shift based upon the employee’s clocking in time and having considered only those shifts that the employee is allowed to work. For example, if an employee (who that day would normally have worked the 2:00 pm shift) clocked in at 05:55 CaptureIT would judge that the employee had arrived a few minutes early for the 06:00 shift (provided that this was a valid shift for that employee). In accepting the employee’s arrival all rules relating to that shift, e.g. grace, lateness, lunch times, etc, would be applied by the software.
The major benefit of the Variable Shift feature is that massively reduces administration that would otherwise arise from the raising of attendance exceptions when employees swap shifts.
