Recording Employee Attendance over Multiple Sites
Record Attendance Data from Numerous Locations
CaptureIT supports a number of options in terms of connectivity. The easiest, and most popular way, is to route data from a terminal back to the CaptureIT server via Ethernet over a LAN or WAN. This is the recommended solution and makes it very straightforward for the terminals to transmit clocking data, and for administrators to access data on the CaptureIT database.
If you have sites that are not connected via a LAN or WAN, then we can provide other solutions in order for the CaptureIT server to retrieve data.
One option is to use a modem terminal. This is a standard clocking terminal that is connected to the modem, which then connects to a standard phone line. The CaptureIT server, at Head Office, is equipped with a compatible modem and is configured to dial the remote terminal at pre-defined intervals to retrieve the clockings. There is no limit on the number of remote terminals that can be configured in this way.
A second option is the use of a GRPS terminal. This works in the same way as the modem terminal but does not require a phone line and, instead, operates over GPRS using a mobile phone network. This is ideal for sites where it is not possible to install a landline and is an increasingly popular choice with our clients.
For administrators based at remote sites, CaptureIT is completely compatible with remote desktop technologies (such as Microsoft Terminal Services or Citrix) and Virtual Private Networks (VPN).
